  •      Single crochet is one of the most important stitches you should need to learn. It is also one of the easiest stitches.

First Row
  • For the first row, count the number of chain stitches to be sure that it is matching your pattern.

  • Crochet one more chain stitch and then insert your hook into the second chain stitch.

  • Wrap the yarn over your hook, and grab the yarn. Draw it through the chain stitch.

  • Now you have 2 loops on your crochet hook.

  • Wrap the yarn around your crochet hook, and hook the yarn. Draw it through the both loops on  your hook.

  •  One loop should be left on your crochet hook. This loop is going to be the starting point for your next stitch.

  • You've made the first single crochet stitch.
  • You can repeat this sequence of steps as needed. Remember, for next single crochet stitch, insert the hook into the next chain stitch.

Second row and beyond

  •  Turn your cloth inside out (180°).
